Music And Family interview
Me(Gabriel): What was your first memory of music.
Interviewee(My Mother): My first memory of music that I can remember was back when cars had radio's in them and they had buttons to change the stations, well I thought that every time that I pressed the button I could see the person singing the song on the radio from behind the button.
Me: How young were you during this memory.
Mom: I probably wasn't older then 3 or 4 years old
Me: What did your parents think of the music you listened to as a kid.
Mom: Well I listened to what they listened to usually so we all kind of had the same music taste.
Me: Did you guys ever listen to music together.
Mom: Yeah I listened to there music, what ever albums they bought is what we played, whatever 8-Tracks or cassette tapes is what we would listen to.
Me: What was the best way to listen music back then vinyl's, cassette tapes?
Mom: Vinyl's usually but when I was little it was a lot more of the 8-Tracks
Me: What was the first vinyl that you personally bought.
Mom: I remember buying a Johnny Lee Vinyl and I was so happy to have it, and I played it so much that I got tired of it after like a month.
Me: What was your favorite song on the Vinyl
Mom: It was a vinyl of his greatest hits but my favorite song was, "Lookin For Love" I used to play that song all the time and it is still one of my favorite songs till this day.
Me: I remember growing up and you playing that song all the time when you use to cook lunch after church.
Me: This will be my last question, what song do you think was your favorite song back when you were younger and why?
Mom: Well most of the time when I was growing up I listened to a lot of old southern country music but when I got older it grew more into like Michael Jackson and Prince, I used to love the album, "Off The Wall" by Michael Jackson, I honestly think Michael Jackson might be one of my favorite artist of all time. But my favorite song on the album was probably, "Rock With You".

I really liked interviewing my mom I learned a lot of knew things about her and what music she liked to listen to, and I found it pretty funny because Michael Jackson is one of my favorite artist of all time as well and as you can see my mom can talk about Michael for hours. But overall I thought this interview went well and I learned a good bit about my moms history of music.
Gabe it was awesome reading all your moms answers for this assignment. I love her taste in music and she seems like a great person. I am very glad you also got to learn a lot from your mom too. This was amazing to read and listen to, great job bubba
ReplyDeleteIt's a awesome interview Gabe! It sounds like a fun and personal memories from your mom, my parents also used to listen to music on the radio. I can totally imagine "Rock With You" playing on repeat in your house!
ReplyDeleteHi Gabe! I enjoyed reading about your mom's taste in music when she was younger. It reminded me a lot of my mom's music! I think a lot of our parents who grew up in the South enjoy an interesting mix of old country that they heard from their parents, and the pop music that they heard on the radio when they were young adults. Thank you for sharing!
